Best Buddies Engagement Project

When I joined the executive board of Best Buddies at Marquette University, our chapter faced challenges with member engagement and consistent participation in events. While we had a solid core of members, we noticed that many students joined the club without fully understanding the commitment or impact of one-to-one friendships with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our goal was to strengthen chapter involvement and make Best Buddies even more fun for both buddies and members.

I worked closely with my fellow executive board members to draw more awareness to the club and create more exciting events that would engage both members and buddies. We focused on improving our outreach through social media. With stronger fundraising efforts, including local restaurants and adopting merch, we were able to host more interactive and inclusive events that brought our community together.
